What are Invisalign Clear Braces?
Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses a custom-made set of clear plastic retainers (often called aligners) to gently and gradually guide your teeth into proper alignment. They can be used to correct a range of dental problems including crowded teeth, overbites, under bites, gap teeth, crooked or misaligned teeth, as well as problems caused by injuries or accidents. Invisalign is a popular choice for adult and kids braces as the clear retainers are virtually invisible, and so they feel less self-conscious while wearing them.
Invisalign retainers are similar in style to a dental retainer as they are also removable, and are swapped out roughly every two weeks for a period of six to eighteen months (or more depending on the treatment plan). Your first set of retainers are made using 3D imaging technology that creates a perfect model of your teeth. The retainers are fitted to your unique set of teeth, then adjusted as required to help shift your teeth into their ideal alignment.
Benefits of Invisalign Clear Braces
The main advantage of Invisalign is the clear plastic material that they are made from, which makes them virtually invisible. A lot of people won’t even notice you are wearing them. The plastic retainers are also a lot smoother than regular metal braces, so are more comfortable and less irritating on your gums and cheeks. Invisalign uses modern computer imaging to create a unique set of retainers for your teeth, so they always fit perfectly.
Another big benefit is that these clear retainers are also removable. This means you can continue to eat and drink your favourite foods, and play sports or other activities without any worries. You can also remove them at night to easily brush and floss your teeth as normal. For best results you’ll still need to wear your clean aligners for most of the day, around 22 hours, but the convenience of being able to take them out as needed is invaluable. Best of all, Invisalign clear braces will help bring your teeth into their correct alignment in no time at all. They will give you a straighter, better looking smile that is much easier to clean and maintain.

What Our Patients Say
Invisalign v Braces
There are pros and cons to both Invisalign and conventional braces. The main difference between these orthodontic treatments is the material. Invisalign is made of smooth, clear plastic that is moulded into retainers that you wear over your teeth. Approximately every two weeks you will get a new set of clear aligners to wear which will encourage your teeth to shift into the right alignment. Invisalign is much more convenient as you can remove the retainers as required for eating, playing sports, or flossing and brushing. They are also much more subtle because the retainers are transparent. For this reason Invisalign is popular among adults who want to avoid embarrassing metal braces but still want to correct their smile. Invisalign can also be used for children and teenagers orthodontic treatment.
On the other hand, braces are made up of metal brackets and wires that are attached to your teeth and regularly tightened. Some people find metal braces to be very irritating on their gums and cheeks, and difficult to clean around. Without proper care, braces can leave marks on your teeth from built up plaque. However, conventional braces are still very common as they are an effective and affordable way to straighten teeth. Invisalign treatment is more expensive, but that extra cost brings a whole range of extra benefits that patients usually find worthwhile. To determine which treatment option is right for you, it is best to come in for a consultation and talk through the solution options with your orthodontist.
Invisalign Before and After Photos
Invisalign treatments can make a huge difference to the shape and appearance of your face. For example, people with an overbite often have an upper lip juts out unnaturally, and the reverse for under bites. Invisalign corrects these issues by slowly realigning your teeth and jaw, creating better symmetry in the bottom half of the face and softening your features. You can see in these before and after photos that Invisalign has given our patients a more natural appearance, as well as a more confident smile. Whatever the issue, Invisalign will help correct it and give you a set of teeth you are proud to show off.
